A great kettle and such good value from Coffee Friend. The kettle tends to spit out some of the boiling water when I pour,I have to take care to avoid a burn. Service from Coffee Friend was outstanding

Coffee friend were amazing, so happy with the service, my Flair 58 arrived next day. I want to point out that the 58 I received was the most up to date version as of mid 2025; black gauge surround, the heater control unplugs at the heating element, it came with the flat black puck screen – not the old compressed gauze one. I wanted to clarify all that because the 58 has been upgraded over time and this listing shows a couple of different versions, plus the price is so good (cheapest I've found new) it made me concerned I was buying and obsolete version. The only annoying thing to me is the beep when you turn it on and when it's come up to temperature. It's so loud and cutting, especially if you make coffee in the morning in a quiet house, it wakes you up better than the coffee! Seems to be a strange design decision considering the best thing about this method, coupled with a manual grinder, is the process is pretty much silent. The temperature control is annoying, the cable is an awkward length, it's too long for the control to hang at the back of the unit, and it's too short to position it anywhere useful. However, is it worth paying an extra £200 to have the control at the front built in? That's up to you. But not the case for me. The whole process has been a pleasure, from purchase, to set up, to daily use. I'm not qualified to comment on the specific virtues of the machine regarding making coffee, but I will say it's fun, and it's definitely an education, if you have a buddy who likes coffee, it's certainly a conversation while you pull shots. Honestly probably not the tool if you regularly make coffee for more than two people. At a relaxed pace and grinding by hand, it works out roughly at serving a shot every four minutes.
