Nespresso Gran Lattissima EN640W Coffee Pod Machine (DeLonghi) – White

Great coffee machine. I bought one of these as a Christmas present as I already have one myself and love it. However, be aware that this is a European version of the machine, with a 2 pin plug. The conversion plug included in the box is a travel-like convertor added by the distributor, rather than an official one from the machine manufacturer – this detail is hidden away in the specification fact sheet and not obvious at the point of order.

Bean to Cup coffee machines

This coffee machine produces delicious coffee and the variability of each cup is amazing. You can customise the strength and volume of each cup to your liking. It is very easy to clean and the designers really thought about the full user cycle for this machine. I'm very pleased. Comments that complain about the temperature are misguided. The machine produces coffee that is at drinking temperature, or slightly hotter. The problem is that most drinkers are in the habit of making their coffee, and leaving it for 10 minutes to cool down. This isn't needed with this machine. My one complaint is on the water jug, 1.7L sounds like a lot, but it does an automated cleaning cycle when you turn it on AND when you turn it off (if you choose a drink that has milk). So the 1.7L capacity only lasts for 4-5 drinks before you need to refill it.

Coffee machine arrived damaged by courier. Despite us providing video footage opening the box to reveal damaged contents (bent casing around drip tray holder, smashed water holder, water damage in box) it still took Coffee Friend two weeks to ‘inspect’ the machine and send what they said was a replacement machine. The ‘replacement’ arrived, still with some bent casing around drip tray holder but as this was fairly minor and we’d been without a machine for so long I decided to make do. This was a big mistake as the machine started leaking after the first backflush. We returned the machine and were told repairs would take 4-6 weeks. It’s already been 10 weeks and they say they're still waiting for parts and can’t tell me when the machine will be repaired. I can’t afford to write off the £2,000 we paid for this machine but don't know what to do as they've ignored my request for a refund. Update: following this review they offered me a temporary machine. When I accepted they replied to say they'd actually now fixed my machine and attached a picture…of the corner of a completely different machine. A picture wouldn't prove anything anyway. Feels like another stalling tactic.

Delivery in 1-3 days as advertised. Nespresso Inissia great, works perfectly. HOWEVER: machine arrived with EU plug. An adaptor was included but EU plug wouldn’t fit properly in adaptor. Had to purchase an adaptor so we could use the machine. I would not have bought the machine if I had known it would be delivered with an EU plug. No information was given indicating machine would not have uk plug.
