About product

“BLACK CROW WHITE PIGEON”. EXTRAORDINARY COFFEE STORIES.

Chapter 14

The Black Crow presents:

The air is filled with the sweet aroma of plums and the gorgeous fragrance of hibiscus. The intoxicating notes of port wine make this unique combination even more intriguing.

Cultivated at an altitude of 1850 metres and processed using the natural anaerobic method, this exquisite arabica of the Caturra subspecies originates from the estate of La Cabaña located in the Colombian region of Huila. Flying high over the bustling farm, one can see Danilo Pérez, the young owner of the estate, waiting anxiously for his latest harverst. Danilo specialises in exotic flavour profiles, so he’s always eager to experiment and introduce fans of coffee all over the world to truly unique combinations.

What's the difference between specialty coffee beans and regular ones?

Specialty coffee includes only the world’s best-rated varieties. Who rates it and how do they do that, you wonder? Well, the rating is in the hands of certified coffee tasters. They evaluate the quality of the coffee they’re presented with based on the scale created by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Four criteria are assessed: origin, the appearance of green beans, the aroma of the prepared brew, and its flavour characteristics. Only coffees that end up scoring somewhere between 80 and 100 points can be rightfully referred to as “specialty”.

How many servings will a single pack like this let me brew?

It all depends on your preferred brewing method. If you’re a fan of espresso, you’ll need around 7–10 g of coffee for a single cup (which means that a pack like this will let you prepare around 20 servings). If you prefer filter or pour-over methods, you’ll need around 60 g of coffee per every 1 l of water.
