Decided to translate this from my review for the local version of the same brand (they operate in multiple countries with a similar name). A bit of misleading marketing The coffee itself has been decent when I’ve bought it, but I can’t shake the feeling that these are just nicely packaged, mid-range bulk beans sold under made-up “brands.” No one else sells these Caprisette beans except Coffee Friend and its various versions, like Kahvikaveri in Finland. It’s a pretty clever business model. The constant “50% off” or “2-for-1” offers make it clear that the real quality of the beans is far below the listed retail price. The final straw for me came when I received a marketing email promoting a new “barista-quality espresso machine.” I’d never even heard of the brand (Sorso), so I decided to look into it. Turns out, the same machine is sold on AliExpress and other Chinese marketplaces for a much lower price — and it’s marketed there specifically for private labeling: buy a few units, slap your own brand name on them. After some more digging, I found that Sorso is registered as an EU trademark owned by Coffee Friend Group, as of 2024. The very same coffee machine appears online under several other brand names — the original manufacturer seems to be Corrima. It might still be a decent machine, but it just feels fake when a shop that also sells Jura and De’Longhi tries to market Sorso — their own in-house brand — as a top-tier, barista-level espresso machine. I’ll be buying my coffee elsewhere from now on.

My experience with Coffee Friend was very good. The price of the coffee machine was competitive, the delivery was quick, and customer service was very helpful.

Great service from the team, good prices and fast delivery! Ordered an Ascaso steel duo, which was the best price I could find. Arrived the next working day after the order and then received a £50 voucher. After deciding I then wanted a new grinder too, which coffeefriend didn’t have in stock, I contacted them and they were happy to order one in for me and use the voucher against the purchase. This was then delivered much quicker than first thought. So really happy and will use again (even if they forgot the freebies they promised with the grinder 😜)

It was very quickly from order to delivery.

I decided to order my coffee machine from Coffee Friend as they offered the best price and 10 free capsules. I encountered a problem when trying to place my order and rather than continue I cancelled. A representative phoned and emailed me the next day to offer assistance as they could see I had cancelled my order – I'm glad they did – as they placed the order for me and also added a further 10 free capsules. I haven't tried the machine yet as it is for a Christmas present. The customer service so far is faultless.

Great experience with this company

Easy online ordering & very efficient service. Dispatched very quickly & excellent communication. The only negative is concerning your courier- Parcelforce, the delivery date was changed by the recipient as well as “safe place” information but this was ignored by Parcelforce who delivered just the same on their original date & left the package on the front door step in full view of the road for the entire day. Not good!
