Located in Brazil, “Fazenda Santa Hedwirges” has been growing coffee for the past 90 years. Over this period, the estate has developed unique farming methods that are both environmentally friendly and socially responsible. In addition to creating a pleasant work environment for their employees, the owners of “Fazenda Santa Hedwirges” are constantly implemeting new environmental practices aimed at preserving the biodiversity of the surrounding nature. Native trees are planted, modern sewage treatment methods are tested out, and the use of pesticides is kept to a minimum to maintain the beauty and health of the green areas inside and around the farm.

In “Fazenda Santa Hedwirges”, age-old traditions meet innovative technologies. The farm boasts four independent production centres where different bean varieties are processed. It also makes use of a special computer program to manage the drying process when the weather conditions aren’t suitable for patio drying. These particular beans were patio-dried for 19 days though, which is nearly twice as long as most other Brazilian coffees. By extending the drying process, “Fazenda Santa Hedwirges” has endowed this variety with more prominent notes of fruit. The coffee was then allowed to rest for 10 days before being hulled and exported.
